TJI’s Brand Title Sponsors the “All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament”
Supports Youth and Sports Development in Hong Kong
.
(Hong Kong, 11 Mar 2025) As one of the leading and renowned restaurant groups in Hong Kong, Tam Jai International Co. Limited (“TJI” or the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”; HKEX stock code: 2217), through its flagship brand “TamJai SamGor Mixian” (“SamGor”), became the title sponsor of the “All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament” for the first time, actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and supporting the development of youth and sports in Hong Kong.
With a firm belief that nurturing younger generations is the foundation for building a sustainable society, TJI is committed to fostering the growth and development of young people. To fulfil this mission, the Group’s brand, “SamGor”, has become the first catering brand to be the title sponsor of the “All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament”. Starting from the 2024/25 season, it will support local school football elites for three consecutive years, offering young people with more opportunities to achieve self-realisation and showcase their talents.
With the support of SamGor and other sponsors, the tournament has undergone significant upgrades to its venue and facilities, not only elevating the overall professionalism of the competition but also attracting greater public interest. This has helped enhance the recognition of local school sports and contributed to nurturing young athletic talent in Hong Kong. As the first large-scale school sports event held at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground since its opening, the tournament drew over 2,500 spectators, marking a significant step forward in the Group’s efforts to engage with schools and strengthen community ties. In addition, the third-place playoff and the final match were broadcast live on TVB Jade Channel and simultaneously streamed across multiple online platforms for the first time, achieving a cumulative reach of over 7 million views. This expanded visibility enabled the event to transcend the boundaries of school campus and enter the public spotlight, allowing more people to witness the dedication and skills of local student athletes. It further enhanced the tournament’s professional image and reputation, encouraging more students to pursue their potential in sports. At the tournament, the Group invited the “SamGor Jeh Jeh Cheerleading Team” to bring their enthusiasm and energy to the field, spreading the brand’s encouragement and support to all players and spectators.
To motivate the student athletes, the top four teams were rewarded with mixian (noodles) cash vouchers. Individual awards were also presented, including the “Most Valuable Player”, the “Best Defensive Player”, “Top Scorer” and the “All-Star Team”. A total of 114 outstanding players were recognised for their excellent performance, inspiring young people to strive for excellence.
In the coming two years, SamGor will design and produce exclusive jerseys and uniforms for the quarter-finalist teams and their event staff, not only enhancing the participants’ sense of belonging, but also elevating the professional image of the competition. Professional photo shoots will also be arranged for social media promotion, providing young athletes a platform to shine.
Mr Daren Lau, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of TJI, said, “As a brand rooted in Hong Kong, we uphold the spirit of ‘giving back to society’ and firmly believe that nurturing the next generation is key to building a sustainable future. We are thrilled to step beyond the traditional boundaries of the F&B industry by title sponsoring the ‘All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament’, actively engaging with schools and the youth communities, encouraging young people to be bold and to push boundaries. By providing resources to organise a high-standard tournament and offering media exposure opportunities, we empower student athletes to showcase their potential on a professional stage, embodying the Group’s ESG core value of ‘Nourishing Communities’. Looking ahead, we are committed to upholding our environmental and social responsibilities and working together to create a more dynamic and promising future.”
